You'd think KNGDAVD was born when The White Stripes, Black Keys and Freddie Mercury had a menage-a-trois, but you'd be wrong. The duo met in jazz school, where producer/multi-instrumentalist Jon Buscema not so famously told then R&B singer Tye James (after corrupting him with his first ever joint followed by his first ever cigarette) "You should cut the shit and just front a rock band." The comment, disregarded as a joke, became a foreshadowing of things to come when the pair reconnected in NYC. As musicians and people Tye and Jon couldn't be more opposite - Tye loves 90's rnb, Jon prefers classic rock. Tye loves christmas music, Jon HATES christmas music, Tye goes to church, Jon...doesn't. But it's this contrast that allows the duo to work so well together. They're combination of bad ass stadium ready beats, soaring pop melodies, and quirky lyrics will have you turning up, rocking out and pissing off your parents.
