Heavy psych, stoner, rock degenerate punx, Kontrasto hail from all over Sydney & are based at Jungle Studios in Leichhardt. Formed in early 2020, Kontrasto recorded their first EP “Bullseye Smile” remotely during the first C19 lock down. This led to plenty of gigs at the usual locations - MoshPit, Hideaway, Frankie’s & The Factory Theatre among others. With their live show developing quickly, along with a reputation for no bullshit, rocking good times, they found themselves very busy attracting an array of gigs in & out of town. Evolving from their punk roots, they slowly stumbled closer towards the hazy lights of the psych stoner genre - but always heavy AF. After the second C19 lock down in 2021, the boys recorded their follow up EP, “Don’t Stare Up At The Sun” at Brookvale’s House Fox Studios. Produced by Black Rheno’s hardcore Legend Ryan Miller, the sound is brutally huge & packed full of typical Kontrasto attitude (released June 2022).
