Kurinji makes unique music for theatre, film, arts and ears. Kurinji is comprised of Aimée and Shakthi. Shakthi grew up in cities, with classical Indian music, curries and traffic jams. Aimée grew up in the bush with scores of animals, singing to cattle and creek-beds. As a teenager, Shakthi fell in love with Nirvana and now listens obsessively to indie dance and electronica. Aimée grew up with choir, madrigals and classical music but would quietly indulge in as much Hip Hop and RnB as she could get away with. Together, Shakthi and Aimée create an unconventional sound, a melding of their diverse influences.
