Australia’s Gold Coast seems to be the mixing bowl of an eclectic mix of folk / rock/pop from Byron Bay in the south and urban hip-hop / EDM from Brisbane and Ipswich. The groundswell of existing and potential talent appears to support this. It would come as no surprise then that when Kynan Stowers decided to embark on a path of song writing, producing and performing that his influences would stem from those sources as well as musical roots from his country of birth, New Zealand. One would suppose that coming from a heavily musical family – with great grandparents, grandparents, parents, uncles, aunties and cousins who have all performed professionally – Kynan would have been born with a guitar or a microphone in his hand. No. From an early age, he wanted to play footie, and played at representative levels for touch football and rugby league. His first ever musical performance (or musical anything) was at an end of year school presentation evening for his last year at Benowa State
