Taking the lead from behind the piano, Brisbane chanteuse Bethan Ellsmore introduces audiences to her music love child ‘La Trav’; performing indie pop and rock born from a motley career spanning opera, musical theatre, pop and jazz. Bethan’s song-writing is personal, theatrical, tinged with heartache and humour. Her music is sometimes in character and sometimes straight from the horses mouth, but always heartfelt. Her quirky lyrics are sung over catchy hooks, delivered with unbridled passion and a cabaret flair. Backed by some of Brisbane’s best up-and-coming musicians, La Trav has been described as “a female Ben Folds Five”.
