Laura Ingram wears many hats. Mentored by Australia’s “high priestess of soul” Kylie Auldist and tutored by ARIA-winning jazz trumpeter Vince Jones, Ingram now sets out to record her debut Retro-soul album. Writing and playing a versatile mix of soul, country, jazz, rock and americana, Ingram has supported the likes of Clare Bowditch, Caiti Baker, Allysha Joy and Kylie Auldist, and staged a series of sold-out shows celebrating the music of Dolly Parton. Her early singles, ‘Valentine’s Day’ and ‘Home For Christmas,’ Ingram positioned herself in the lineage of smooth modern soul revivalists The Teskey Brothers, Amy Winehouse and Leon Bridges, but her new single, ‘Not Another Fool’ is a southern soul-rock banger to crush the dreams of a no-good ex and expose her powerhouse vocals. The dirty, guitar-driven number combines Ingram’s love of the anthemic 80s rock music of Dire Straits, Heart and Fleetwood Mac with modern soul-roots revivalists Alabama Shakes, Marcus King and Sweet Talk.
