Law Of The Land is an Australian 3 piece Power Pop Rock band based out of Melbourne Australia. Tusani Carter heads up the band on Lead Vocals, Tony Stamkoski on Guitar & backing vocals, and Simon Rhodes on Keyboards & backing vocals. Simon Rhodes and Tony Stamkoski first started playing together in various club and pub bands. The two became good friends and bonded over their shared love of blues music. They felt a strong creative connection and began songwriting together, which later led to the formation of Law Of The Land. Tony is an accomplished songwriter and has been writing and recording songs from a young age. Simon is more of a song idea creator, using a computer to build grooves and ambience into a kind of ‘soundscape’ from which you can hear how the song will basically sound before the songwriting process begins. Together Tony and Simon collaborate and create the music that combines the lyrics & the vocal melodies, the keyboard/synth riffs, the drum and bass grooves and the rhythmic and lead guitar lines for Law Of The Land’s songs. Tusani Carter joined the band after meeting Tony at a private gig he was playing. Tusani was asked by the host if she would get up and sing a song or two with the band. After singing the first song the band wouldn’t let her leave the stage, and she ended up singing an entire set. After hearing Tusani sing, Tony insisted that she audition for Law Of The Land. Fast forward to today, Tusani is an integral part of the band. Their unique sound draws from simple straightforward Power Pop Rock, underpinned by Blues-inspired groovy beats. Combine that with well-crafted original songs, a fantastic Singer and a Big Fat Sound, it makes you want to listen to Law OF The Land’s songs again and again. If you’re trying to pinpoint how Low OF The Land sounds, think Sade or Icehouse mixed with a dash of Dire Straits, add a splash of Pink Floyd, a pinch of grit, and a fantastic female vocalist. Their Infectious songs will leave you wanting to listen over and over again.
