Fast becoming one of Australia’s most exciting new voices in indie rock, Layer Cake bring a fresh take on what it means to create together from afar. Sprinkled across Australia’s east coast with members in Brisbane > Sydney > Melbourne, Layer Cake is a collaboration and commitment to writing songs any mother would be proud to hear. Layer Cake are the band you didn’t see coming - like the dollop of tomato sauce in Paul Kelly’s recipe for gravy. The bands new single “Numb” is almost a satirical take on the feeling of waiting for someone to respond when you know the spark has passed. And what it feels like to cling onto that final glimmer of hope. This single marks the bands most complete work yet and Ellie’s voice shines bright until the very end until the band really kicks into gear. It’s fun it’s delicious it’s layer cake baby.
