Leisa J is a classically trained pianist and music educator who studied an undergraduate in piano performance before completing a diploma in secondary education. Leisa began teaching music in the secondary system in 1998 and continues to teach today. After many ups and downs in her personal life, Leisa relinquished her passion for the piano and songwriting. She immersed herself in songwriting for some time, penning her stories and life journeys on paper, and exploring melody and harmonies on the keyboard as a cathartic experience. The predominately acoustic sound of these works is largely influenced by her classical training and love of the strings.
