Leroy Wilson is a Bidjara/Kara-Kara man (Carnarvon Gorge & Springsure areas) who was raised in the small community of Barcaldine, Central Western Queensland. Leroy grew up in the bush on a small property just outside of town and found much beauty in the arid landscape. Artistically he is heavily influenced by Kev Carmody, Archie Roach, Graham Murray, Leonard Cohen, Xavier Rudd and Angus Stone. His poetry and songs are reflective of how he feels and sees Australia today as a 30 something year old indigenous male.
