Formed in 2003 from the ashes of several other bands, Lexi’s Curfew were an instant sensation in their hometown of Cairns, winning the Sea FM Rock Challenge with only their second gig. Fronted by a nightclub DJ turned vocalist who, amongst other things, does backflips onstage, Lexi’s Curfew have garnered a huge local fanbase with their incendiary live shows. Originally going under the name Shnexpean, they scored every worthwhile support slot going. The checklist is a who’s who of national acts including Machine Gun Fellatio, Spiderbait, 28 Days, Regurgitator, Living End, The Butterfly Effect, NZ grinders Shihad, and the list goes on. Lexi’s Curfew have continued to build their Cairns fanbase, releasing their debut single ‘Beautiful Ants’ to a huge 2000+ crowd at Gilligan’s Backpackers in early 2006 with the limited edition pressing selling out shortly after.
