Although traits more so than talent are inherited through genetics, it’s fascinating how similar family members generations apart express themselves. Like his Grandfather, Liam Bryant began writing poetry when he was 12 years old in the school playground. Little did he know that 17 years later he would discover a collection of his Grandfather’s poems, put one to a piece of his music and name an album after it. Accompanied by his trusty acoustic foot stomp box, Stompy and his foot tambourine, Tamby, Liam recorded his debut album, The Pessimist & The Optimist at Airlock Studios in Samford Valley. The album was recorded and mixed by Yanto Browning (Art of Sleeping, Kate Miller-Heidke) and mastered by William Bowden (Gotye). To complete the album, Liam also invited a very talented bunch of musicians, The Handsome Devils who each brought with them their instrument of choice (electric guitar, bass, keys and drums). Their contribution brought great power, dynamic and space to the album
