From the Sunshine Coast’s sandy shores comes this summers’ feel-good single, ‘You’re the Reason’ by indie-rock singer-songwriter Liam Griffin. It’s a short and upbeat strummer of a song, featuring mandolin hook-lines over synth-drenched acoustic guitars, and a backbeat that is sure to inspire foot stomping and clapping while singing along to the chorus’s irresistible melody. Griffin’s lyrics lament over the inability to sing his new ear-worm to his muse, but that doesn’t stop him from declaring his thanks and appreciation for the inspiration to keep on singing his song. The song was performed and recorded by Liam Griffin entirely, then mixed by Ohad Rein (aka Old Man River), who has worked on records by Passenger and Empire of the Sun. Finally, the track was mastered by Steve Smart at Studios 301. The single release is the first from Liam Griffin since 2014’s ‘Jamberoo’, which was preceded by the Arts Queensland funded rock album ‘Between the Colours’ and the ‘Pictures EP'.
