Dave Rennick, of Sydney band Dappled Cities, launches his new project, Light Pressure, and new single, U Know Me. After being at the helm of 5 albums with Dappled Cities, 30yo Rennick began branching out to work on solo material under his own name early 2014. In May he released the post-disco inspired debut single, ‘Boys’. Now comes the evolution of the project with a new single, ‘U Know Me’ - an energetic nod to early 80’s jam, groove and disco. The live band lineup includes Andy Cleland (Bones Bones Bones, Winston Surfshirt) on bass, with fellow Dappled Cities alumni and collaborators Peg (Ned Cooke) and Allan Kumpulainen completing the jam. ‘It’s nice to hear a new band hit the ground running’ - Stereogum ‘More propulsive and decidedly funkier.
