Lilo Peaks is the solo project of 20 year-old songwriter and synth jockey, Alicia Lineham. Originally from Foxton, New Zealand, this bright, small town kid came to Auckland with big ideas, bundles of cables and odd pieces of gear. Her sound is a perfect fusion of acoustic and electronic sound, creating something that sounds a bit like ‘synth-pop alt-ronica’ with a rootsy, organic edge. With the essence of Feist, James Blake, St. Vincent and Mt. Kimbie as creative reference points, Lineham simply explores the boundaries of her ideas to the fullest extent. Over the last twelve months, she has appeared live alongside Rewind Fields, The Basement Tapes and Ophelia. Most recently, she made a live studio appearance on bFM’s Freak the Sheep with Silke Hartung, playing two tracks off her debut EP Snucks Pt. I. Released June 20th 2014, Snucks Pt. I debut is a darkened ode to the online age; the blue-screened hues of bedroom suburbia, and a prelude to this young artist’s sound exploration.
