it's taken me awhile to get there, but when people ask me what i do, ill sometimes mumble the word "musician" under my breath, as i awkwardly look away ... this response is generally followed by a quick return to the conversation in which i attempt to justify my lifestyle of part-time work, too many weeknights at the pub and regular mid-morning sleep ins ... i'm 24 and i used to work as a journalist for a couple years - but i think i'm ready to say ive retired from this line of work ... so now, i'm just a frustrated out-of-work writer who makes coffee for a living and makes up tunes for fun
