Big bluesy riffs, mean slide guitar and guttural screams emerge from Frank Bruiser Loather as he exorcises his demons live! Big John and Vinnie Barbarino Loather play “in the pocket” keeping the rhythm super tight, heavy or light and stomping with grooves. The Loathers are a monster rock ‘n’ roll avalanche for your soul playing mostly original blues based music and occasional tributes to rock legends such as the Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, The Cult and Tom Waits. Influences: The Rolling stones (early years), Led Zepellin, Hendrix, Howlin’ Wolf, Canned Heat, Cream, Chuck Berry, Deep Purple, AC/DC, Rose Tattoo, ZZ Top, John Lee Hooker, lightning Hopkins, Elmore James and John Brim. THE LOATHERS current line up have been performing in various Sydney bands for over 10 years such as the brown sound, Nothing, Betty and Jim, Viagra, NSA and My Pocket Radio. THE LOATHERS are an energetic bluesy, dirty rock’n’roll band. They play mostly original blues based music and occasional tributes to rock legends such as the Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, The Cult and Tom Waits. Guitarist Frank, drummer Vince and former bass player Jordan Lacey formed the loathers in 2004. THE LOATHERS drifted towards a blues/roots sound as it came naturally and you can always play blues when you’re drunk. Jordan moved back to Melbourne and was replaced by wild man bass player Big John. The Loathers have recorded an EP called SLOW and are about to launch their new album OSCILLATOR.
