Lonely Singles is an indie band fronted by Sydney writer Alexander Webb. A calming, almost hypnotic quality seeps through their songs, which Alex likens to the liminal space between being awake and asleep. "My favorite afternoons are the ones where I have a song on repeat and I'm drifting in and out, somewhere in-between daydreaming and sleeping." Their latest single, "I Miss You" is a calming ode to lost love. Sometimes, the deepest emotions can be expressed simply: "I Miss You" captures the sense of longing in those three simple words. Like his freelance work for National Geographic and the New York Times, Alex's songs are non-fiction, but in a way fundamentally different from prose. "Music is a bridge between the conscious and the unconscious. What makes it so beautiful is that no two people will hear a song in the exact same way--I can only put it out into the world. How others interpret the songs is up to them."
