Lookalikes are a six-piece indie rock outfit whose music blends a contemporary sound with the rough folky vocals from a golden era. Growing up in Melbourne, both Al Currie (Vocals) and Joel Skurrie (Vocals/Guitar) have been involved heavily in the music scene from a young age. It was in 2016 when they met that they shared a desire to bring back the folk-rock bands of the 60s-70s with a modern sound and so they began to write music together and by 2017 they were recording in the studio. 2019 saw their first song “Wild Things” released and the six piece was brought together with fellow musicians Paddy Martinkus (Drums), Reece Starkey (Guitar), Louie Symmons (Bass) and Thomas Byrne (Keys). They tracked the songs themselves in the studio with their producer Harley Stewart of Fight Night Records, experimenting with sounds and layering in the instruments. Lookalikes are super excited to release their music out into the world and have their eyes set on live shows throughout the year!
