With melodic flows, intimate lyrics, and a signature emotional vocal delivery, Melbourne artist LoveAugust makes heartfelt hip-hop. In his own words, the 19-year-old African American artist “write[s] stories that can relate to everybody about love, loss, betrayals…I tell my story and other people’s stories through my own melody.” Soft pianos and soulful electric guitars set the bed for LoveAugust’s diary-like expressions of love and adoration as emotional 808s and drums drive his latest single “Sephora”, out April 8th. Sitting in on his friend’s studio sessions with platinum-award-winning producers, August was driven to pursue music after an Instagram DM conversation with SoFaygo, who liked his demos and encouraged him to take it seriously. His debut single “Verified”, executive produced by BeatsWithSheph (YoungnLipz, A.Girl, Ay Huncho), explores the way status changes how people treat you, leading them to throw you away even when you worked hard for them to see you grow. LoveAugust is working on writing new music and building his live set, in preparation for his debut live performance at the Bendigo leg of Groovin The Moo in late April.
