Lovely Beast burst to life when the stratospheres of groove collided with funk, rock and post punk. Political sensitivities and other lovely messages smashed together with punchy beastly tunes. Lovely Beast’s conception began with extended jam sessions in a bungalow in the inner northern suburbs of Melbourne. Songwriters Adam Pavitt (the light wave) and Jordan Lacey (the dark wave) have brought their own unique songwriting sensibilities that have shaped the scope and diversity of Lovely Beast's sound. Adam’s vocal and acoustic guitar style have roots in funk and rock. Jordan’s bass lines and Sim K's fast lead guitar style have lead to a distinct sound emerging from these sessions. Lovely beast's line up is completed with newest member Ian Vengtasamy smashing it hard on the drums. Essentially an alternative groove based rock band, Lovely Beast explores genres as diverse as it members. The sound scope spans post-punk sounds of the early 80's to blues to funk. Influences on the band
