Brisbane-based solo artist Lucas Mapstone continues to push further in expansive rock realms with his latest single Astray, pairing existential frustrations with cosmic arrangements in this powerful rock piece. Written from a place of frustration with the current climate of the world, Lucas was inspired by watching people around him bury their heads in the sand to avoid the harsh reality of what we're all experiencing right now. A true labour of love, Astray was built piece by piece, recorded with producer Casper Hall at Sound Out Studios in Brisbane. Having begun composing six years ago, Lucas has consistently released work since 2019. His catalogue to date displays a keenly adventurous songwriter with progressive inclinations, the guitar and raw lyricism at the centre of extended harmony and dramatic dynamics. Astray being the culmination of his youthful energies and diligent songwriting.
