Primarily focusing on the writing, arranging and production of pop music, lui’s work is firmly embedded within the style and culture of hyper-pop. Lui is deeply moved by nature, often referencing mother earth as a spiritual figure in his writing and blends this with his obsession of online identities and digital gore. Motivated by communities of the underground, queer pop and his deep empathy for the young mind, lui’s discography displays his hyper-fixation on pop music as a medium of self-expression, zeroing in on the apparent limits associated with pop. His music exists as a bridge between the organics of natural Foley and the details of calculated synthetic production. An immovable disposition on the incomparability of hyper-pop as an artistic methodology is ever present in his work. Lui’s concoction of glittery production and raw, unapologetic songwriting maintains his constant mission in pushing the envelope of pop music.
