Luke Woodfield is a Meanjin / Brisbane-based artist whose work spans over multiple mediums from music production to film-making and photography. A fusion of soul, funk / disco with influences from jazz and R&B, his music draws from late 70s / early 80s groove and is often paired with a generally heavy beat-driven production that nods to instrumental hip-hop titans like J-Dilla & Nujabes. Overlaid with soulful chords and a sprinkle of cosmic funk, his sonic craft aims to serve a sincere desire to deliver feel-good music to the tender-hearted of the world and beyond. Grounded with roots within the Meanjin sphere and having collaborated with / produced for the likes of SOLCHLD, Sachém, Rudy Matoy and SH4RIFF, he embraces the path of emerging alongside some of the city's finest. To create timeless, uplifting mantras for generations to come that can be sung from the depths of one's being is but one of his many wishes - his single 'Soul Diving' is a taste of what is to come in 2023.
