Maeve Grieve is a Melbourne-based singer, songwriter, and guitarist who blends folk, jazz, and alternative rock into a captivating, genre-defying sound. Hailing from Tasmania, Maeve’s debut EP, Midnight Commute, released on November 13, 2024, explores themes of journeys, change, and the quiet longing of the night. The four-track EP weaves intricate guitar arrangements with thought-provoking, narrative-driven songwriting. Drawing inspiration from icons like Fiona Apple, Madison Cunningham, Joni Mitchell, and Radiohead, Maeve’s music is rich with texture while remaining undeniably accessible. A first-class graduate of the Jazz and Improvisation Honours program at The University of Melbourne, Maeve’s artistry is shaped by intensive musical education. She has been recognised for her work, winning the 2024 LUMINA Composition Award and receiving the New Frontiers Award at the 2023 Melbourne Women’s International Jazz Festival, where she was also invited to perform on the lineup.
