manicSOUL are a refreshing representation of how far the strand of grass roots hip-hop has come since its inception, being continually adopted and interpreted to represent every walk of life needing a voice to be heard. Despite their relatively young age, and without overreaching, Nathan and Jack manage to render their daily life and experience into playfully truthful verses. Being proud of where you’re from is no easy feat when the lights routinely shine elsewhere, but manicSOUL have been able to capture the simple yet unassuming pride of owning one’s origin without reservation; knowing full-well that staying grounded doesn’t correlate to limiting one’s own potential.
