Jessie Newling, the project’s singer and songwriter lived half her life in Mexico where, as a single mother she supported her two children working nights as a jazz and cabaret singer. Her music draws on the Spanish song traditions of yearning and redemption. She uses live effects processing to distort and loop her voice, accompanying herself on synths. Regan Van Veen on beats and bass, is a music technology artist who develops new electronic music performance interfaces, creates dynamic music for video games and live installations and creates custom built wearable controllers. They use novel methods on stage to create unique beats and sounds.
