MARCHINI & YOUNG Bobbi Marchini and Harry Young are two names well remembered from the 1970’s, but it wasn’t until September 2022 when they were asked to appear on the Ted Mulry Memories Concerts that the two actually met. Here they appeared as solo artists and together performed Ted’s huge hit ‘Jump In My Car” in the show's finale. This led to them writing and performing this very special original song, fittingly entitled ‘Rock and Roll Survivor”. BOBBI MARCHINI Bobbi began her singing career at the age of 15, with the Hobart band, The Silhouettes. She appeared locally as a solo artist in Cabaret and on TV, until moving to Sydney in 1968. A residency at Sammy Lee’s Cheetah Room with Southern Comfort for a year, led to another residency at Jonathons on Broadway with the band Hunger. While at Jonathons she signed her first record contract with Alberts and had 3 singles, 2 of which charted. She then went on to become a member of supergroup Duck ,singing lead alongside Jon English and recorded an LP with Duck from which a single “southern man” was released. She was also an in demand session singer and guested with 3 tracks on the Grass LP with Sven Liback ,of which a single I Love You Lord was released. Also 3 tracks the Pity For The Victim with John Robinson. She appeared at the Sydney Opera house in opening week supporting Dave Allen and Reg Varney and supported Bo Diddley in Brisbane. She represented Australia in the Olympiad Of Song in Athens in 73 and was a regular on most major TV variety shows throughout the 70’s…pursuing a solo career until leaving Australia to settle in Europe in the late 70’s. Returning to Australia in 2010 where she resumed her career singing around Perth and later moving to the East Coast . HARRY YOUNG In 1971 Harry Young and his band Sabbath where touring Australia with a string of hits including their top ten successes “The Wheat In The Field” and “Sanbernadino”. Harry went on to have a very successful country solo album “After Harvest and later joined Billy Thorpe’s  Original Aztecs, to produce the critically acclaimed album “At The End Of The Rainbow”. A tribute to Billy Thorpe.  Harry has enjoyed many co-writing achievements with the likes of Tony Mitchell (Sherbert) and Stuart Fraser (John Farnham Band, Noise Works) to name a few. His touring commitments over the years also proves to be a “who’s who” of Australian talent and includes The Easybeats, Johnny O’keefe, John Farnham, Russell Morris and the list goes on.
