Featuring original tunes written by Melbourne big-band composer and saxophonist Rob Simone, as well as Melbourne pianist/composer Fionn O’Sullivan, coupled with the soulful sounds of Lorraine Salvador on vocals, the Marionettes are the next big thing on the Melbourne Funk/Soul scene! Continuing from a busy 2013, with appearances at the Yarraville Festival, Williamstown Festival, Federation Square and voted ‘The Top Ten Things To Do’ at the Melbourne Fringe Festival. As well as this, playing residencies at Purple Emerald's and Tony Starr's Funk/Soul Saturday nights; the Marionettes are continuing to gather momentum in 2014 and have just released their debut album, ‘Can’t Wait For The Weekend’. Marionettes are a melodic indie band with loads of vocal harmonies and very hookey chorus'. With an eccentric front lady they deliver a quirky live performance that is more that just music. The band formed early 2012 and are based in Melbourne's South East suburbs.
