Born in Queensland, Australia - Mark Tempany's love of music began at a very early age. His family constantly played a wide variety of music during his formative years and Mark's mother - herself a fine singer - encouraged everyone in the Tempany household to enjoy and celebrate through music. After earning a university degree in Environmental Science, Mark entered the Brisbane folk music scene in the 1990's, then was encouraged by a local promoter to visit the annual Tamworth Country Music Festival found immediate success - winning major awards and being welcomed into the Australian Country Music industry. His 1994 all-Original Debut Release album "Stand In The Storm" was followed in 1996 by a second Original album "Southern Skies" as Mark found himself a Grand Finalist in Australian Country Music's premier talent search TOYOTA Star Maker. By now Mark's music was gaining regular National and International radio airplay, print media coverage and appearances on National Network Television including Seven's "The Denise (Drysdale) Show". 1998 saw a third Original album completed ("Summer Dreams") and late that year Mark won the Performance Category of the Unisong International Song Contest, instigating a 6-week promotional visit to North America, and later that year a tour throughout the USA and Europe in 1999. The inspirations of this International adventure led to Mark's fourth Original album "Far Away" - a career watershed with it's brilliant production, performances and media success - in 2000. With the release of his fifth Original album "The Long Highway" in 2003 Mark firmly established himself as one of Australia's finest Independent recording artists. Having built a reputation for superb performances, and with over 15,000 album sales, multi award-winning & multimedia successes across Australia and overseas - Mark's unique Australian music had certainly made an impression. Mark met his wife (fellow singer-songwriter Alison Hams) in 2003 and the pair now run their award-winning "one stop music shop" business Stormfront Productions based in Regional SA. The duo are much-recognised for their work as musicians, educators, studio producers and engineers - and especially for their philanthropic work in the community. Launching in 2016, Mark and Alison created the Whyalla Recording Scholarship - fully sponsoring and supporting young regional artists to record and release their debut single! WRS has already launched the recording careers of Breeze Millard, Shakira Lea, Jaylee Daniels and Liberty Tuohy - each of whom have registered their own significant chart and media success. To date Mark has won a record 11 QRA Sunnie Awards and in 2021 Stormfront won the SA Music Award for Best Music Educator. Mark & Alison have been Inducted into the SA Country Music, and Brand SA, Halls Of Fame. 2023 sees a momentous achievement as Mark and Alison launch their Original CD album "Out Into The Blue" - produced in-house by them in collaboration with some of the finest talents in music around the world. With National and International media coverage to commence in May the pair promise music videos to follow, and say "It's so good to be back!"
