Marlinspike are a four-piece hailing from Fremantle, Western Australia. Comprising of: Benny Trouchet (lead guitar), Harry Morse (vocals), Morgan Bennett (bass), and Ananda Chanmugam (drums), the band formed in early 2015 and released their Debut EP ‘Marigold Comedown’ in February the following year. Although they do not identify with any single genre, Marlinspike have been compared with elements of alternative rock and psychedelia. Having been described with words such as "hypnotic" and "tempestuous," they combine tight bass riffs and drum beats with explorative guitar melodies and emotive vocals. 2016 proved a fruitful year for the band, with the release of their debut EP ‘Marigold Comedown’ in February and numerous gigs in the months to follow including supporting local legends Psychedelic Porn Crumpets. Later 2016 saw Marlinspiketravel to Augusta with Broderick Madden-Scott (Tunafish) to record their sophomore EP ‘Time Capsule’ set for release June 2017.
