Swathing synths and echoing guitars are punctuated by grooving basslines and introspective lyrics in Mars on Holiday’s catchy psychedelic pop daydream. Although they call Perth home, Mars on Holiday was initially born of pandemic boredom in a tiny Melbourne studio apartment. The project began as a simple songwriting experiment: 'what happens if you treat each song individually and write from a perspective of, 'what's best for this song?', rather than trying to force genre orthodoxy or an overarching sound?'. What resulted was a diverse and eclectic set of songs, yet all still connected by the same compelling emotional center throughout. With the singular aim of writing catchy ear worms, the project has taken shape; bringing a broad and divergent range of pop influences together under the singular umbrella of psychedelic music. Now based out of sun-soaked shores of Perth, Mars on Holiday are set for a big 2025 - with their forthcoming debut album releasing this year!
