4 Eyed Water Boy is the musical moniker of singer songwriter Martin Bergs whose raw acoustic driven sound blends folk, punk and protest into songs that dive deep into the pressures of modern life, love, loss, digital connection, inequality, and injustice. His lyrics are articulate, honest and unflinching. It’s protest music with bite and purpose, shining a light on human behaviour while refusing to lose hope. Bergs is an emerging artist of mature age following a professional career in geomorphology and water resources management. Music career highlights to date include performing at the 2025 Mullumbimby and Nimbin Roots festivals; support gigs for Things of Stone and Wood (acoustic); Sydney based rock group Swamp Daisies; and alt country artist Vanessa Jade. He also credits a songwriting retreat mentored by Americana songwriting icon Kevin Welsh and Australian country music legend Kevin Bennett as cementing his love of song writing. Two EP’s ‘There See!’ and ‘Surfing the Subversive’ with full band versions are available on all common streaming services until a better option is found.
