Mathews has forged a career in songwriting through a deep appreciation of the music scene at both a local and international level. Whether it be gigging at some of Melbourne’s most renowned venues or undertaking artist development in the U.S, Mathews’s love of the industry shines through. At only 22 years of age, Mathews has racked up a lifetime’s worth of experience and is showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon. Initially learning how to play piano, Mathews’s childhood love of The Simpsons inspired him to pick up a saxophone at the age of 11. With a background in musical theatre and singing in choirs, contemporary music lessons started when Mathews was 13. By the age of 15 he started writing his own songs and hasn’t looked back.
