Originally from Byron Bay, Matt has recently returned to Sydney after spending the last 5 years perched on the edge of the Cook Strait in Wellington, enjoying the view and lamenting the water temperature. Matt is a composer for film and tv, a guitar and music teacher, an experienced live performer, an award winning songwriter, and plays acoustic electric and classical guitar, ukelele, and lap slide. Like most musicians he's performed in various projects and lineups, and after spending a part of the nineties abroad, he returned to Sydney where he formed the surf-reggae trio, Sounds Like The Ocean. This reflected Matt’s lifelong bond with the coast and his love of reggae, roots and blues. The music featured on this disc is from a variety of eras and projects of Matt’s strumming life. He is constantly writing new material, and is available to discuss and composing or teaching projects through his websites.
