Creating art takes patience, time and sometimes the right experiences in life to gain new inspiration. 2020 sees a new direction with my originals taking a back to basics approach to songwriting, composing and production. My previous release under the alias 'notes from the avenue' (the acoustic e.p https://soundcloud.com/user-665250333/sets/the-acoustic-ep )were songs of times gone by, loved lost and the dreams of places we would all rather be. It has taken a few years to become comfortable with releasing fresh original tracks, now gaining inspiration from those dreamy, folky indie vibes that gets us through summer. Put those headphones, grab your favourite beverage and chill to the new sounds of Matty Jay with simple progressions, lush soundscapes and raw acoustic guitar.
