Creating Music is a day in the life of 25 year old rapper and producer Mayfield. His goal is to provide quality and authentic music for people to relate to and be a prime example of artistic integrity at its highest form. Born in Cape Town, South Africa, him and his family moved to Sydney, Australia at the age of 5. Raised in western Sydney, his love for music started from a young age, listening to CDs from his parents music collection to watching music video programs on Saturday mornings. But it was hip hop that changed his life, at age 12, when a friend introduced him to the sounds of Jay-Z, DMX, OutKast and more. He became addicted to this genre: the confidence, the rhyming, the culture but it was the production side that he really fell in love with. His mid high school years saw him working with the demo version of FL Studio, spending hours every night creating beats and writing a few songs here and there. Just as Generation 'X' got tired, gave up, and got day-jobs, Mayfield took an oath to start a musical revolution against 'mainstream' thinking. Mayfield are an alternative rock band from Adelaide South Australia formed in 2004. They have forged their own sound through their varied influences and controversial social views. The philosophy and corner stone of Mayfield is part grunge rejectionism, part hippie ideal, part project mayhem but wholly its own. Mayfield speak of a generation robbed, a generation lied to, a generation out of faith. For some its screams "your time has come" for many more its screams "your time is now". The three men, all in their early twenties, fueled by a hatred of conformity, made a pact: to perform raw, pure and hypnotic music for people to find solace in and be inspired by. Mayfield released their debut 12 track album “Victim of Circumstance” in 2017 (To a sold out audience at the Gasometer hotel). Mayfield’s debut record was engineered, produced & mastered by Mayfield’s own drummer Ivan ‘Choi’ Khatchoyan (Cooking on 3 Burners & The Traffic). Since it’s release their album was awarded PBS FM 106.7 feature album of the week and received rave reviews and international airplay and praise from Craig Charles on BB6 FM in the UK.
