MCK
Bio history
Making a bold move to press pause on a teenage dream at the age of 16, Mckenzie Comer disappeared from the industry and her burgeoning fan base after being discovered on YouTube by a Nashville music executive in 2010. Taking the time to gain perspective on reality and hone her creativity out of the spotlight, she focused on real life experiences to fuel inspiration — allowing her to flourish as a songwriter and producer in her early 20's. Establishing a new creative direction and reigniting her sense of self in the process, she returned last year as MCK with two singles "Magnets" and "Sensitive". Reflecting on her journey to independence and taking back control, she’s found strength in her vulnerability; forging a new path as a woman of the wild with stories to tell. Currently piecing together her first body of work, expect a new single to drop very soon.
After nearly three years away from the music industry, New Zealand-born artist MCK returns with Red Wine Eyes — a raw, vulnerable duet with real-life partner Taylor Roche. Produced solely by MCK from the living room of their Melbourne apartment, the song marks her first official release since 2022’s debut album Becoming, which has now amassed over 600k streams and was recognised by the likes of Rolling Stone, Happy Mag and Under the Radar US. Since stepping back from the spotlight, she has been slowly piecing together a new body of work titled The Deep End — a collection of songs about healing, forgiveness, and the slow return to self. Three of the tracks, including Red Wine Eyes, were self-produced, capturing what she describes as “a kind of rawness that couldn’t have happened with someone else in the room.”
