A proud Kalkadoon woman, Megan Albany has just completed a soundtrack album for release alongside her Banjo Prize shortlisted black comedy novel, The Very Last List of Vivian Walker published by Hachette. Megan’s album, The Soundtrack, echoes the musical journey of her imperfect characters. A fan of retro, motown and great female storytellers, Megan, along with guitarist extraordinaire Marc Mittag, has created an acoustic album that recreates a whole band using only a singer, guitarist and hand percussion, harking back to the days of real time recording. Listen out for the 'broom' used as part of the percussion track on Clean House! Megan has released two previous albums as well as composing music for film and television. Her song Finding Myself reached number 26 in the Irish charts and her composition, ‘Song For Change’ was performed by Australian Idol Daniel Mifsud as part of the Marc Mittag and the Headhunters tour (Herbie Hancock’s band) and featured on the Sunrise Morning Show.
