AuDHD singer songwriter and carer to her own tribe of neurodivergent humans with fluctuating support needs, and a carer to her partner with severe panic disorder and disabling anxiety, Melanie has always used music to stim her way through life and help herself emotionally regulate. Falling into creating music was a natural extension of that passion, and a huge part of her identity from always being surrounded by a musically inclined family and growing up with her dad always in jam bands and a living room taken over by his amp, keyboard, and guitar collection. For Melanie under her project Lanie Laynz (formerly Melanie Valentine) she is able to safely express herself and create a little piece of escapism from a heavy world that overwhelms her.
