Dubbed “The most exciting emerging act coming out of Australia” by Triple J’s The Aston Shuffle, The Meltemi is the daydream of a couple of ethnic boys from the southern beaches of Sydney. Years of being hassled by the surfies for listening to Euro dance music, only fortified their dream of one day sharing a stage with ATB, Rui Da Silva or Darude. First meeting at a pathetically small club night in the basement of a Caringbah Businessman’s Club in the 2000s, Adam Bozzetto and Byron Georgouras shared an imagination of something far greater, and whilst Byron cued up another euro-house classic, Adam solo’ed away on a Saxophone like it was a beach in Ibiza. However, the pressures of growing up separated the pair for a decade, until 2018 when by fate, they once again found themselves behind a DJ booth together on a Bondi rooftop. And The Meltemi began.
