Born in Amsterdam to a Russian mother and Dutch father, nomadic, left-of-center pop artist Mia Nicolai has always been an artist who challenges the idea of conventionality. She grew up in a household that didn’t listen to much music, so she found great satisfaction in creating her own, improvising melodies and lyrics until she found ones that stuck out. Currently between Los Angeles, London, and Amsterdam, Mia Nicolai recently released her debut single “Set Me Free” and shows no signs of stopping any time soon with back-to-back releases planned for the remainder of 2020.
