Mic City Sons formed in Boston, Massachusetts in 2012, releasing The December EP that same year. After a long pause, the project returned in 2024 with Redemption, an 11-song LP written and recorded entirely by founding member James Topping. Now based in Melbourne, Mic City Sons releases its next album, Devils Dance, on 18 September 2026, preceded by singles "Leaving You" and the title track "Devils Dance." The record splits between guitar-forward and synth-forward songs, with Hammond B3 organ threaded through. Guitar and synth driven alt rock, designed to be played loud. The project is expanding beyond the studio, with James now joined by drums and bass.
