Sydney based singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist/producer Michael Carpenter is one of the Australian country music scene’s most experienced and well regarded members. As a long term artist with multiple projects (solo, Michael Carpenter and The Banks Brothers, The April Family, Carpenter Caswell, Michael Carpenter and The Cuban Heels), to a sideman (many many artists) to a successful producer for literally hundreds of Australia’s country stars, the 5 times Golden Guitar nominee is well regarded, respected and very experienced. His new project, titled Michael Carpenter & The CRC came about in late 22, while thinking about the next adventure he could create for himself. The idea would be that Carpenter would write, produce and oversee the material, but would, at his own discretion, farm off overdubs to his long list of talented friends. Leaning in to the lessons learned from 2 years of sporadic lockdowns, he’s called on his professional friends and their ability to work from their own creative spaces. Carpenter says “as a multi-instrumentalist, I’m regularly working in isolation. Yet, I see my talented friends doing such great work remotely on other people’s records. I wanted to know what it felt like to have them work on something for me.”
