I am a guitarist and songwriter by the name of Michael James Kugel. In high school I took to YouTube and unwittingly found some success doing acoustic renditions of The Butterfly Effect, Cog and Karnivool from my bedroom. I’d always been a metal head, and dad (an ex-opera singer) had bought me an acoustic guitar in an effort to have me ‘play something nice’. Though it took a while, his master plan eventually came to fruition. Inspired by Andy McKee and Tommy Emmanuel, I decided to dedicate myself to exploring the full potential of raw acoustic guitar and from-the-heart vocals
