Hailing from Broken Hill, Mick’s love of music started at a young age with his fascination with drums. It wasn’t long before his first gig at age 15, playing some good ol’ Rock n Roll with a local band. The following years saw him play with a number of groups in Broken Hill, which led to him supporting some of Australia’s top bands as they toured the country in the 80s and early 90s; Cold Chisel, Men at Work, Angels and Aussie Crawl to name a few. Years later Mick has now launched his own solo project (which he plays a variety of instruments in - such as drums, guitar, percussion and of course vocals) under the name Stone Of The Hill, leading to him heading into the studio to start recording some of the dozens of songs he’s written over the years. His lead single, Stones Of The Hill, shares his memories of growing up and performing in Broken Hill alongside some of Australia’s greats.
