These Perth bred, now Melbourne based electro-rockers have made waves in 2009. Inspired by the progressive sounds of groups such as the Presets and the 80's rock legacy left behind by INXS, Icehouse and others, Midnight Circus represents the new wave of Australian electro-rock. 2009 saw the Circus headlining packed-house gigs at Melbourne institutions such as The Evelyn, Toff in Town, The Espy and HiFi Bar. The band spent a month at number 1 on the JJJ Unearthed charts over summer of 2008/09 with their hits 'Midnight' and 'Time has Come'. Now 2009/10 is looking even bigger, already locked in to two Perth tours in early 2010 including headlining Cuban Club on New Years Day, supported by DJ Dexter (Avalanches) (Last year headlined by Paul Mac), and SUMMADAYZE in Perth. Armed with a powerful set list and an infectious stage presence, Midnight Circus is quickly gaining a reputation as one of the best live acts on Melbourne's local music scene.
