Born and raised in Sydney, Mike discovered his love for singing in primary school after joining the school choir and getting the opportunity to sing at the opera house. It was during high school after his friends secretly entered him in to the school talent quest that he really thought this was something he wanted to do. Mike relies on his development of self awareness and personal growth for his songwriting. His upcoming Ep "I'm afraid, I'm afraid" takes you through a journey of uncovering his true feelings and identity. The second single "Walls" is the dreamiest and most ambient track he has ever written. Walls is about those moments where you can suddenly set aside all your anger, hostility and judgement to look within. The vocal take from this track was recorded in a small apartment in South Yarra as a demo. The natural reverb was so nice that it was kept and used in the final cut. He has written and recorded each instrument on every track either at home or at parliament
