One summer night in 1997 at the Heavenly Social (which was then at Turnmills in Farringdon, London) David Emeny and David Johns saw the Chemical Brothers play a supreme set & Jon Carter’s first DJ slot – both having a total disregard for convention – playing Run DMC next to RATM & Orbital next to the Airwolf theme tune. They came away from that experience & starting writing whatever they wanted. After releasing the Have Washington Terrified EP on Bolshi Records under the name of “Milo”, they kinda went different ways. Emeny took a few years out in China and Johns started making some roots in Sydney. They’re still sending bits & pieces to each other – the internet has made the whole world their studio. Johns has done a bunch of remixes & original tracks under the name Milo Firewater.
