A high-energy hard rock three-piece, .mind at large. has been described as "a combination of The Mars Volta, Incubus & Faith No More". Formed in 2003, the current line-up (since 2005) began the dynamic concoction of a solid, expressive rhythm section and sonic landscapes on guitar that has seen them build a strong local fan base in Sydney and their hometown of Wollongong. Named from Aldous Huxley's book The Doors of Perception, the band features the talents of founding members Chris Ireland (drums) and Andrew Smetanin (bass), and Atanas Janackovski on guitar – an expressive blend of solid rock grooves and overlaid with expansive vocal lines stemming from Smetanin's passionate lyrics. They have shared the stage with National and International touring acts such as Mammal, MM9, Helm and the Screaming Jets.
